About Say It Close
Some things are too important to leave unsaid.
Say It Close began with a simple thought:
The gifts we remember most are rarely the most expensive ones. They’re the ones that make us feel something.
The ones with a few words that stop us for a second.
The ones we keep in a drawer long after the wrapping paper is gone.
The ones that somehow say, I know you. I see you. You matter to me.
We’re Anna and Michael, a husband-and-wife team, and parents ourselves.
Over the years, we’ve bought plenty of gifts for the people we love. Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmases, graduations, Mother’s Days, Father’s Days… all those moments when you want to give someone something meaningful.
And we kept coming back to the same problem.
There are endless things you can buy.
But finding something that actually says what you feel is much harder.
A necklace can be beautiful.
A keepsake can be beautifully made.
But what turns an object into something someone treasures is often the meaning attached to it.
The words.
The story.
The person who gave it.
That’s where Say It Close came from.
More than something to unwrap
We wanted to create gifts that feel personal from the moment they’re opened.
Something a mother can give her daughter when she wants to remind her how proud she is.
Something a husband can give his wife when “I love you” doesn’t quite feel like enough.
Something for a son leaving home.
A father who has always been there.
A granddaughter growing up too quickly.
A friend who needs reminding of just how much she means.
Sometimes the right words come easily.
Sometimes they don’t.
We want to help with the moments when they don’t.
Every Say It Close gift begins with the emotion behind it.
Then we look for the piece that can carry that message — jewelry, keepsakes and meaningful gifts that can stay with someone long after the occasion itself has passed.
Because the product matters.
But the feeling behind it matters more.
Why “Say It Close”?
Because life moves quickly.
Children grow up.
People move away.
Relationships change.
Days we thought we’d always remember become years before we realise it.
And there are so many things we assume the people closest to us already know.
That we’re proud of them.
That we admire them.
That they changed our lives.
That we would choose them all over again.
That no matter how old they become, they will always be our little girl or little boy.
That we notice everything they do for us.
That we love them.
Say It Close is our reminder not to leave those things unsaid.
To put them into words.
To give them meaning.
And, whenever we can, to give the people we love something that lets them keep those words close.
Gifts for real relationships
We don’t want Say It Close to become a catalogue filled with hundreds of meaningless products.
We’d rather create and select gifts around the relationships people actually care about.
Daughters and sons.
Mothers and fathers.
Wives and husbands.
Grandchildren.
Friends.
And the passions, memories and little details that make each of those relationships different.
Some gifts will be tender.
Some will make you smile.
Some may bring a tear.
But every one should have a reason for existing.
If it doesn’t help someone say something worth saying, it probably doesn’t belong here.
From our family to yours
If one of our gifts helps someone stop for a moment when they open the box…
read the words twice…
smile…
cry a little…
or simply hold the person who gave it to them a little tighter…
then Say It Close has done exactly what we hoped it would do.
Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of those moments.
